Psk. Orkun ÖZOCAK
Orkun Ozocak received his Bachelor of Science Dual Honours degree in Psychology & Philosophy from Keele University UK in 2010. In the same year, he was selected as the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) representative to make a presentation in Holland, where he won an international award at the congress of European Federation of Psychology Students’ Association (EFPSA). He specialised in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also worked at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in England.
Following that, he completed Filial Therapy training provided by Purdue University Associate Professor Dr. Volker K. Thomas, and he worked as a psychologist at the Foundation for Children with Leukaemia (LOSEV) to support children and families. In 2012, he started to provide psychotherapy and counselling as well as trainings & workshops to individuals, schools, and municipality centres in Istanbul. He continued to hold individual and family interventions, he also trained as a Family and Marriage Therapist.
Further to his psychology career, he attended Deakin University in Australia and further specialised in consumer behaviour. He became elected as a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
After moving back to Turkey and working at various companies, he started working with sports people through his passion for tennis and coached youngsters about psychological flexibility, mental toughness and motivation. He continues to work with individuals, couples and families, using an Holistic Behavioural approach with the model of ACT. Orkun has spoken at events; gives seminars to business audiences, universities and to professional groups.
He provides counselling on stress, anger, pain, break-ups, infidelity, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem problems, relationship and communication problems. On request, he can support Tenkap clients.
